The Fishy Snack

My mother-in-law hosted lavish parties in which she would serve this particular fish with pre-dinner drinks. My friends loved it soo… much they would pack and take some home. It was one of her most served and most loved dishes.

There are many ways of making this but her way has proven to be the best .I have major aversion to fish (seafood) its nonsensical but i just find the smell too awful and so i don’t eat fish at all and have never tried many fish based dishes . My husband has turned vegetarian  but my sister-in-laws love fish and all kind of seafood (of every colour and shape ) and so now it is only made for them. Today though it was not for them,it was for my elder daughter ,since my early childhood i always heard my grandmother ,my mother and aunts everyone saying that fish is extremely good for your hair ,your eyes and skin i wanted all that goodness  for my daughter but i knew she would not eat fish that easily(she only eats fish fingers that too very very seldom)so just to get her started i made her her grandmothers special.

INGREDIENTS

1/2kg sole fillets

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

red chilli powder,to taste

carom seeds a big pinch

2 green chillies,5cm fresh ginger peeled, 5 garlic cloves  all crushed together in a mortar and pestle.

1 tbsp chopped coriander

salt,to taste

a splash of water

vegetable oil

Marinade the fish with all the above ingredients (except the oil) in a bowl and leave it for 30 minutes.

Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan until hot.Place the fish ( a few pieces at a time) in the hot oil and let it brown and crisp on both the sides .Once golden ,remove from the pan and drain on kitchen paper serve hot .
