Fondues originated in Switzerland and I think we all love them, this sweet treat is the perfect ending to any meal and Oh! how kids love it. Chilled fruit and chocolate sauce what can ever go wrong in this combination.Use any fruits of your choice, I personally love strawberries but we don’t get any in this hot weather 😦 but i love it equally with bananas and mangoes so whatever fruit you desire just chop it up make the sauce and Enjoy!
1 large mango, peeled and cut into long thick slices
1 apple, cored and cut into wedges
2 kiwis, halved and thickly sliced
2 bananas, chopped
4 rings fresh pineapple, cut into wedges
lemon juice for brushing
8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
1 tbsp butter
2/3 cup light cream
3 tablespoons Irish cream Liqueur
1 tablespoon pistachios, chopped (optional)
Arrange the fruit on a serving platter and brush the apples and banana pieces with a little lemon juice. Cover with cling film and place in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Place the chocolate, butter, cream and Irish cream liqueur in a bowl over a pan of simmering water, stir until melted and completely smooth. Pour the chocolate mixture into a serving bowl sprinkle with pistachios (if you desire) take out your chilled fruit and serve.
